The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd Summit for Democracy which is held in Seoul and hosted by the Government of the Republic of Korea (RoK).
The opening ceremony featured remarks from His Excellency Yoon Suk Yeol, President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Cho Tae-yul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and from the cohosts of the Summit, The Rt. Honourable Oliver Dowden, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Ms. Maria Sommerfeid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador and His Excellency Mr. Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America.
This year’s Summit for Democracy is held under the theme AI/Digital Technology and Democracy. The opening ceremony will be followed by a Ministerial Conference and intergovernmental Dialogue of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and a Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable thematic panel discussion.
