His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali is attending a reception in honour of the President of Suriname, His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi at the Castellani Villas on Vlissengen Road and Homestretch Avenue.
President Santokhi, who is on a four-day Official Visit to Guyana, arrived earlier today and was received by Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d), the Honourable Mark Phillips at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
The two presidents are set to have discussions on a wide range of topics including infrastructure, transportation, human resource capacity and capability, trade, security, oil and gas and agriculture from Wednesday morning.
Along with the two presidents and their wives, several members of the Cabinet are also at tonight’s reception/dinner, including the Prime Minister; Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, the Honourable Anil Nandlall; Senior Minister within the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance, the Honourable Dr Ashni Singh, along with other Government officials, members of the private sector and members of the visiting delegation.
