His Excellency Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali outlined a number of significant agricultural initiatives aimed at empowering young people, supporting women, and advancing the nation’s food security drive during his feature address at the Agri Investment Forum and Expo today.
The Head of State underlined the commitment of his Government to craft a prosperous, resilient, and sustainable future for young people in Guyana.
He also revealed an ambitious plan to create 3,000 innovative jobs in technology for young people, emphasizing a partnership with Canada to provide training. This collaboration, he explained, seeks to equip the younger generation with the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Building on tailoring a future for Guyanese youths, he announced the transformation of the Guyana School of Agriculture into the IICA-Guyana Centre of Excellence, focusing on agriculture, innovation, and resilience.
The Guyanese Head of State acknowledged the challenging road ahead, especially in relation to global economic uncertainties. He, however, assured that his Government would continue to pursue responsible, people-driven policies to advance and develop the nation.
