His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, today, met with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia and Head of the Saudi delegation to the United Nations General Assembly.
Among the issues discussed, were collaboration on matters relating to climate change at the 26th United Nations Climate Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland; capacity building, given Saudi Arabia’s extensive experience as an oil-producing nation, and investment opportunities in Guyana.
President Ali also extended an invitation for a Saudi delegation to visit Guyana in the near future.
Accompanying President Ali were Vice President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo; Foreign Minister, Hugh Todd; Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett and Foreign Secretary, Mr. Robert Persaud.
